David T. Yee, M.D.

Dr. David Yee is an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon
(oculoplastic or eye plastic surgeon) and ophthalmologist (eye physician and
surgeon with a M.D. degree).  He entered college at age 13 and received his
bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley
at age 17.  He went to medical school and received his M.D. degree from the
University of Louisville School of Medicine.

His surgical training includes doing a general surgery internship at the
Louisiana State University Medical Center.  He completed his ophthalmology
residency training at the Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  At the Harvey and Bernice
Jones Eye Institute, he was Chief Resident and received the Academic
Achievement Award for the most outstanding performance as measured by
academic achievement, evaluation by the faculty of his clinical and surgical
performance, and research work.

Dr. Yee has completed a fellowship in burns, a subspecialty of plastic and
reconstructive surgery and general surgery, at the Los Angeles County
University of Southern California Medical Center.  He has the experience of
thousands of patient-visits involving burns, many of them with a facial and/or
eyelid burn component.

Dr. Yee completed a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive
surgery with David Tenzel, M.D. in Miami and, during this fellowship, worked
for six weeks with oculoplastic surgeons in New York, Oklahoma City,  and
Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.  He received extensive fellowship training
in not only cosmetic eyelid surgery but also in functional eyelid
reconstruction.  As a result of this training, Dr. Yee has a special
understanding of cosmetic surgery of this area of the face, whether it is done
partly for medical and functional reasons or for purely cosmetic reasons.

Dr. Yee has published and presented medical and research findings over a
dozen times in recent years.  Publications have appeared in well respected
peer-reviewed journals, such as Cancer and the Archives of Ophthalmology.
He has presented at major international meetings in the United States,
Singapore, and Australia.

Dr. David Yee treats eye plastic surgery problems, which include
reconstructive eyelid surgery, tearing problems, lacrimal duct surgery, orbital
tumors and eyelid skin cancers.  He performs cosmetic surgery procedures
including Asian blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery), cosmetic surgery of
the upper and lower eyelids, laser skin resurfacing, Botox, and Restylane
fillers.

Dr. Yee also sees patients with general eye problems, need a prescription for
glasses, have blurry vision, glaucoma, cataracts, or other problems.  Dr. Yee
performs cataract surgery using the latest techniques, including using
techniques (when appropriate) which have been described as small incision,
no-stitch, and/or no-injection cataract surgery.  Recognizing that cataracts
are a cause of vision loss for millions of people worldwide, many of whom
have no access to modern cataract surgery, Dr. Yee has performed cataract
surgery overseas as part of a medical mission to rural villagers.

If you have been referred to Dr. Yee for consultation, he will keep your doctor
informed and have you return to your doctor after your treatment is
completed.
